I found that belt pully had only been pressed on and was now slipping after about 4 years. Fix was to Dremel a keyway on the shaft and inside of pully and drive a brad in to lock it firm. Start by checking to see that you’ve flipped the on switch the right way. The power switch lies on the handle closest to your thumb.
